Consequence of actions

As a young child we are taught how to respect others and how to treat others. I believe the saying "treat others how you want to be treated." is a good example of consequence of action. This may be a very short saying but in the short saying it says so much. Growing up on this saying taught me how to make others feel welcome and how to treat others. As a young child and still today I think is this how i would want to be treated or have others treat me? For this reason I believe the saying"treat others how you want to be treated" is very good at teaching consequence of action.
